As I grew up my father taught me most of my life lessons through random off-the-wall phrases or quotes.
When I was younger I struggled to find what the true core meaning and value were of those conversations and quirky sayings.
Now that I am older, there is one specifically that has always stuck with me and now makes perfectly clear sense.
"The Choices We Make... (Dramatic Pause for Effect) Dictate the life we lead."

The real challenge is to understand the long-term impact of decisions we make in the moment, and the discipline to resist the temptation of instant gratification.
